SAP news in brief – Maintenance for NetWeaver is coming to an end
What tools are affected by the announced end of maintenance for NetWeaver?
Whether a Fiori® front-end server is running on your system or your company uses an Adobe Document Print Server (ADS) – if NetWeaver is integrated into your corporate infrastructure, you should prepare for the end of maintenance in good time. Maintenance will come to an end in 2027 not just for NetWeaver but also for the ERP system SAP® ECC6.0.
SAP Forms by Adobe is a cloud storage system based on the Business Technology Platform. This cloud service is recommended so that Adobe forms can still be generated smoothly. SAP is not planning an on-premise solution, and extended maintenance until 2030 will cost extra. On its website, the German-speaking SAP® user group DSAG has provided a position paper listing your options if you use SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe, generally known as Adobe Document Service (ADS). You can find a link to this at the end of the article.
In the PROMOS portfolio, NetWeaver is also used as part of the easysquare middleware. Our forward-looking IT experts are already working on a switch to another middleware, PROMOS Cloud 2.0. We will provide more information about this shortly. If you have questions about the switch or need support, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Together, we can refine your digitisation plan.
