GAEB – A Primary Rock in Construction
Stefan Raab, the Australian Dollar and the GAEB don´t have anything in common from your point of view? They do! Because all three of them had their birth in 1966 and are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
Of course our attention in this row of anniversaries is turned to GAEB, the Joint Committee for Electronics in Construction. Since half a decade by now they are concerned with data processing during the completion of construction projects. The overall goal was and still is, within the tendering, awarding as well as settlement of services, to improve the efficiency in construction with IT. At a gala the “GAEB family” celebrated their successful subsistence already in September in Berlin and also PROMOS sincerely congratulates at this point.
As a system house for the housing and real estate industry especially the standard for data exchange created by GAEB, the so-called GAEB DA XML, is from high relevance for us. For more than 15 years now we are supporting our customers in this relation with an interface for integrated exchange of GAEB-forms with SAP®, firstly in the form GAEB 90, by now in GAEB XML to its full extent. With this solution a gapless depiction of the tender, award and settlement process is made possible, which is why not only time savings but also an increase of quality can be reached. SAP® itself doesn´t offer import functions for GAEB data in its standard.
